Diminished Value claim in Florida:

In the state of Florida, if you are in a wreck and the accident was not your fault you are entitled to file a claim for diminished value. In 1994 a study was completed by the State of Florida and determined that "uncompensated losses" due to "decreased value" were twenty billion dollars in the US. They also estimated that these underpaid property losses cost the consumer and the state of Florida $925,807,000 in lost compensation and revenue. The statue of limitations on filing a diminished value claim in Florida is three years from the date of loss. In order to recover the losses you must have a diminished value appraisal completed by a professional automobile appraisal company, such as Appraisal Group of America. Also, if the other party does not have insurance and you carry uninsured/ underinsured motorist coverage you may be able to claim diminished value under your policy... Appraisal Group of America can help the Florida consumer in many ways. We also have local Florida appraisers standing by to complete an inspection on your vehicle as well. Call 877-655-1661 so Appraisal Group of America can help you recover your losses today.

  • I want to thank Appraisal Group of America. I was in a major wreck and my 1999 Mercedes Benz was totaled. I had bought the Mercedes new and the vehicle only had 42,000 miles. It was my baby. Farmers ran a CCC report and offered me $10,000. I was so mad. I called Appraisal Group of America and signed up immediately. One week later Appraisal Group of America notified me that they had a new offer for me for $18,000. I was so happy. I was able to buy another Mercedes and I finally felt whole.
    Thanks,
    Cory Caloraso - Pensacola, Florida

  • Good afternoon AGA,
I just wanted to update you on the results of this claim. Progressive's initial offer was 50% of what our claim had suggested, $4600. They tried to use the GA formula and that the parts that were replaced were all Toyota quality excuses. Following the claims process suggestions they wanted to get their own appraiser and to come look at my truck. I agreed 100% to this. They called me the following day with a new offer without even looking at the truck. They said that they would agree to 30% of the vehicle's value or $8000. I could have argued a bit more, but felt that it was a fair offer in such a short amount of time. My check has been sent out today so I should have it next week.

I want to thank you guys for your outstanding customer service and the speed in which this case was dealt with. I will make sure I tell everyone I know about your services.
God Bless and Happy Holidays to you and your family!

  • I had just been in a wreck and USAA wanted to fix my 2004 Toyota Camry although the initial repair order stated the car had at least $10,000 damage.  I begged my adjuster to total my car and they refused to. I told them that due to diminished value I could not sell my newer car as a certified used vehicle as well as Toyota dealerships could not sell my car on their lot.  USAA still refused to total my car. Additionally, they were threatening to take away my rental car and start charging me storage fees for my wrecked Toyota. I called Appraisal Group of America and they conducted a diminished value appraisal including inspecting my vehicle where I live here in Florida.  Once USAA received the diminished value appraisal they totaled my car that week. I don’t know what I would have done without them.
God Bless and thanks for the help.
    John Smith - Miami, Florida
